Sam signs with Metier Records!! Sam’s debut solo CD ‘Refracted Resonance’ will be released in March 2019. It features music by Christopher Fox, Horatiu Radulescu and George Holloway.

LSO Soundhub 2017-19

Sam has recently been selected as an LSO Soundhub associate composer for 2017-19. During this time he will be working with The Octandre Ensemble, Improviso and Johan Lofving at LSO St. Luke’s in London.

Recital with Jane Wilkinson at the Swedish Church – 17/01/19, London, UK

A recital of baroque song arranged for soprano and guitar by Sam. This concert will also feature some guitar solos.

Premiere with Improviso – 01/02/19, London, UK

Dynamic and exciting period instrument ensemble Improviso will premiere Sam’s new work …on plain air… for recorder, baroque violin, baroque cello and theorbo in the Brunel University lunchtime concert series. The Beldham, Brunel University, 1:10pm, free entry. More info here.

Music’all Scholarship fundraiser – 16/03/19, London, UK

Sam will perform a selection of guitar solos as part of this concert to raise funds to provide scholarships to the Music’all school of music. More information here.

Octandre @ Cardiff University – 03/04/19, Cardiff, UK

Together with Audrey Milheres (flute) and Corentin Chassard (cello) Sam will give a performance and workshop for undergraduate composition students at Cardiff University.

Refracted Resonance @ Hundred Years Gallery – 31/05/19, London, UK

Sam’s new commission for the George Holloway Children’s Choir receives its world premiere at the Cathay Future Concert Hall in Tianjin, China.

Duo Nuevo and Flaugissimo Duo in Cornwall – 21/09/19, Marhamchurch, Cornwall, UK, 7:30pm

Sam performs on guitar and baroque guitar alongside Ruth Corney (flute) and Yu-Wei Hu (baroque and romantic flute) and Johan Lofving (romantic guitar and theorbo) in a programme of music for two flute and guitar duos.

Thornham Summer Festival – 29/08/19-1/09/19, Thornham, Suffolk, UK

Sam returns to the beautiful acoustics of Thornham Magna and Thornham Parva for solo and chamber performances at this wonderful festival curated by cellist Corentin Chassard.

Refracted Resonance @ Brunel – 18/10/19 – London, UK

Sam performs music from his new album alongside groundbreaking music by Nicholas Moroz at his annual recital at Brunel. 1pm, The Beldham, Brunel University, Uxbridge.

Octandre @ HCMF – 23/11/19 – Huddersfield, UK

Together with the Octandre Ensemble Sam performs in the world premiere of Frank Denyer’a hour long epic ‘The Fish That Became the Sun’. Huddersfield Town Hall, 5pm. More info and tickets here
