LSO Soundhub 2017-19

Sam has recently been selected as an LSO Soundhub associate composer for 2017-19. During this time he will be working with The Octandre Ensemble, Improviso and Johan Lofving at LSO St. Luke’s in London.

Live on The Late Lute Breakfast Show – 06/02/18, London, UK

At 11am on Tuesday 6th February Sam will be talking about his composition work for period instruments and performing live in the Resonance FM studio with Flauguissimo Duo. You can listen again here.

Theorbo at Kingston University – 14/03/18, Kingston, UK

Johan Lofving will perform Sam’s solo theorbo music as part of a joint lecture to Kingston University’s undergraduate composition students.

A groundbreaking recording of Frank Denyer’s epic ‘The Fish that Became the Sun’ wth The Octandre Ensemble, Consortium5, New London Chamber Choir and many others. To be released on ‘Another Timbre’ label in 2019.

Return to the University of Kent – 21/05/18, Chatham, Kent, UK

The Octandre Ensemble trio of Sam, Audrey Milhere (flute) and Corentin Chassard (cello) complete another year as visiting ensemble at the university with a concert of student compositions.

Arts and Humanities Conference at Brunel University – 12/06/18, Uxbridge, UK

Sam and Johan Lofving will present a paper detailing their collaborations to create new music for the theorbo.

Composers+Summer – 15/06/18 – 24/06/18, Druskininkai, Lithuania

Sam will attend the Composers+Summer Academy and compose new music for accordion and string quartet to be premiered by leading Lithuanian performers.
